Santa Maria and Pismo

One of the Clements family traditions is the famous Pismo Beach vacation. This year was still Pismo Beach, but with a little twist. We stayed in Santa Maria and it was just as beautiful and fun. Friday night Myke and I drove to see his family and we were especially looking forward to seeing Taylor, Myke's little brother who goes to school in Florida. When we arrived, we had a little dinner and the three kids sat up and talked for most of the night. This is what the three of us usually do, watch TV together and talk. We talked about school, girls (all for Taylor's benefit of course), and we updated Taylor on what was happening in our life.

Saturday morning was ours to spend, Myke and I slowing woke up, I found Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on TV, and Taylor knocked on our door (mostly because we had doughnuts). In the middle of the movie however Myke got the urge to wrestle with his brother, so they did...that was entertaining.

Pismo Beach

Our movie for the weekend was Act of Valor, oh dear...it was a good movie, but it made me sad (don't worry, I won't spoil anything for you). I always get sad during Army movies, they are just so real! The actions scenes were awesome and they did a really nice portrayal of what our men in uniform really do. Thank you men!

We then continued to Pismo Beach, the traditional spot and walked along the beach. It was the perfect day outside, it wasn't windy and it wasn't cold. We went to Splash Cafe and got our calm chowder bread bowls and went and ate by the beach and watched the sunset. This was also the night of the famous card game-Russian Rummy. If any of you want to tape a reality show, just come watch us play this game and you will have hours of footage.

Sunday was SLO day. San Louis Obispo. I love this town. It is so cute and filled with awesome shops and fun places to eat. We ate at Firestone, which I do believe have the best pork sandwiches I have ever had. They marinate then overnight and then slow cook them when you order them. My mouth is literally watering thinking about them. We then proceeded to walk around, go into little shops and Myke and I took pictures on our phones, which we are both starting to really get into.

That afternoon, Myke and I started the trek home, on our way home though, we got a little surprise that we were not expecting for another week-our tax check came in...and it was good! I mean really good! We put most of it into our savings (for a move later on) and then split the money between us. However on our way home, Myke got a better idea. We had been talking about doing a few things around the apartment like getting a new book case and a new desk, something to make up feel more at home and at east about living in a studio apartment. So that is what we decided to do with the money, buy a new desk and book case.

Also we added a new member to our technology family...I am now the proud owner of a Kindle Fire. Myke has been trying to convince me to get one for a while and said that when the tax money came in we would get on for me, one thing about Myke-no matter what, he will find a way to get what he wants. We bought it and while Myke was putting together the desk (which took a while!) I was getting to know my Kindle Fire. We hooked up Myke's Amazon account and Myke had me buy a couple books and look for a case. I am so glad I got it! I love it!! It is a good combo of Kindle and tablet. Plus I used to have an Android phone and I missed it, but now I have the best of both worlds-Android and Apple.

That was our weekend!
