My New Make Up Part 1

People who know me also know that I'm not a big make up person. I don't normally buy make up for myself unless I run out of essential staples (moisturizer and mascara are the most popular). So the fact that I went out specifically to get make up not once, but THREE times is a really big deal for me. That's why this is the start of a three part series: My New Make Up.

To start off this series, I should explain why I'm starting this adventure. As I have mentioned many times on the blog, I got a new job. The idea of the job is that it will potentially lead to a full time job.

I was feeling that I needed to update my entire look, so what better time to start when you are starting a new job and trying to impress the people around you. Plus when you wear a uniform, you need to be your own person in another way.

So my first adventure was to the CVS up the street. There was a buy one get one for 50% off. So I looked into eye shadow and some mascara because both were badly needed. I'm a big fan of Aubrey over at The Kinch Life. She is so wonderful! I love her posts, pictures, and her in general. She posted a make up post a while back and had used these two products and I figured if they were good enough for her, I could use them too.

Maybelline Color Tattoo, Barely Branded. I was originally looking for a pallet of different colors, but when I saw the way this looked on Aubrey, I figured I would use this every day. And I do!
I started wearing it the minute I got home and I have worn it every day since. I was looking for an eyeshadow that would make my eyes look bold, but not as much color, so I could have color for special occasions. If you are looking for a nice, simple, and easy to put on eye shadow, this is a great option!

Maybelline Rocket mascara, Very Black. Again, thank you Aubrey. I was actually going to try this, but I was a little worried about trying a new mascara, but I usually used Maybelline Great Lashes, which is an amazing product! I was just looking for something new. It goes on smooth and without clumps! Gotta love that!

Obviously, I need to thank Aubrey for telling us about these products. You are a true inspiration to me, my blog, and now my life. Thank you!!

Stay tuned for part 2!

Dear Diary

via Izola.

Remember when you had a diary?

I look back on those days and think about how much I loved doing that. I would read those entries and think about how silly I was to be happy that Luke Hanson said hi to me as we pass each other in the hall. Whenever we would go on big vacations, my mom would always have us write down in a travel journal where we went and what we did each day. She said we would read it when we were older and think about all the good times we had together. She was 100% right.

I love to write. I don't necessarily want to be a writer, I just like doing it in my spare time. Hence the blog. However I wish I had a diary that I wrote in every night. There is something so touching about thinking about reading about my adventures later in my life. Writing about my hard times in my life, marriage, and in getting the job of my dreams. The people in my life at the time who helped me get through it all. The good and the bad. I want to remember it all.

I miss having a diary.  I think I may start one again.

Week 2

This week marks the second week at my new job. It is still in the early stages of the job so I'm just trying to maintain my confidence in the whole thing.

I just keep telling myself that I have my dream job and I just have to work my way up from the bottom. It will all be good in a year or so. At least I'm here.

This picture was taken the day I was offered the job. I keep this photo close to remind myself.

Sorry for not really being on the blog. Studying has kinda taken over my life for the next week. But it's all good. I will be back to normal at the end of this week. Thanks for not hating me during this process.

The Newlywed Game Link Up

First things first. I feel like the worse blogger ever. I have not blogged all week and it is not because I don't want to. Truth be told I had a whole list of posts to schedule, but then things came up and I got distracted and then with my 40 hour training days for my new job I got really distracted. So from the bottom of my heart, I'm so sorry. New people, I never do this! This week has just caught up with me.

Now onto my awesome post!!

The other day I was browsing my daily blog reads and I came across one of my fun ones called Forever Newly Wedded. It's an adorable blog written by a beautiful young woman named Karla. She is a young married woman who is trying to keep the magic of being newly weds alive in her home and I have to say I love her spirit. She does a fun link up called the Newlywed Game on Fridays. They were asking people to send in questions to be a co host and so I sent in a few that Myke and I have asked ourselves at times. So head over to Karla's to link up and my answers are below. Enjoy!

-If you could go on any trip for you anniversary where would it be?
I would have to say New York. I have always wanted to visit and I think it would be so much fun!

-Is there a chore that you don't do, but your spouse does, and vice versa? (For example, I don't like cleaning the bathroom, my husband does it for me. He doesn't like laundry, I do that for him).
Myke will clean the bathroom and the kitchen. I don't like cleaning the bathroom-I was always forced to do it growing up. I do the clean up around the apartment. I also take over the laundry, especially because Myke doesn't like doing it.

-Is there a piece of clothing of yours that your spouse would get rid of?
Myke would get of my boots. I know this answer because he has told me multiple times. He doesn' t like the way the boots look on any girl's foot. One could argue shoes aren't clothes, but that's for another time.

-What does your dream house look like?
The outside: white paint with blue trim (yes like The Notebook). However it needs to have a red door. Don't ask why because I have no idea why.
The inside: Standard rooms, but add in a studio for Myke and a separate room for my crafts and office.

-Is there a movie that you and your spouse watch because you love it so much?
Myke and I wach MANY movies together. One movie that will always have a special place in our hearts is 50/50. We saw it on our honeymoon and loved it because of the story and actors. It may seem like a strange movie to have as "your movie" with your spouse, but not to us.

-What are 5 songs that would be on your road trip soundtrack?
I Must Have Done Something Right by Relient K, The Ballad of Mona Lisa by Panic at the Disco, Awake My Soul by Mumford and Sons, Gold by Owl City, and Shout for Joy by Lincoln Brewster.

-What was your favorite date, either while you were dating or when you were married?
My favorite one would have to be when we got engaged. Besides the obvious reason of getting engaged, we went to Gordon Ramsey's London in West Hollywood. We had been saving up for about 6 months to go and Myke decided about a month before to propose then. We got super dressed up and had a beautiful 3 course meal that ended with an engagement that was almost ruined by the waiter. Someday I will have to tell that story.

-What is your spouse's favorite meal?
He loves grilled cheese and tomato soup and we also have a family recipe called Rice Balls that he really likes too.

-When your spouse is sick, what do you do to make them feel better?
I usually make him drink water and orange juice and make him sleep. I also cook him soup and sometimes grilled cheese. if really really isn't feeling well, then i will get him a little gift like a Hot Wheel or something like that.

-If you are dating/engaged: what gift are you most looking forward to putting on your registry? If you are married: What was your favorite gift that you put on your registry?
We loved putting our Kruig and our Kitched Aid mixer. Those were the two I was most excited for and we got both!

H54F: Last Week

Today was my final day at work. I was going to write this earlier, but unfortunately Myke woke up late and I had to drive him into work. So I am writing it now as I got off work also it has been a CRAZY week! So many things have happened, so many good things.

1. This week marks me last week at my old job. I didn't think it was going to be TOO hard, but then I went into work and I was surprised with flowers and a card from the front desk and some of the suport staff and then a gift from my good friend Rebecca. I have been floored by the kindness these people have shown me over the past months and today was no exception. Tomorrow is going to be even harder.

2. Tomorrow is my friend Brigette's golden birthday. She's turning 27 on April 27. We had a surprise party for her Thursday night. It was so much fun and she was super surprised!

3. This morning I woke up to this email from Ashley from The Shine Project. I won a giveaway with her and Gussy from Gussy Sews. I don't think anyone understands how much this giveaway means to me. Gussy Sews was one of the first blogs I ever read and The Shine Project quickly followed. I'm so excited to win and show off their amazing products!

4. Insanity is actually going somewhat well. We are only on day 4, but it's going well. I'm not as sore anymore, but I still have a long way to go.

5. Of course the Friday Freebie from The Kinch Life is amazing and you should go and get it too. This week there is one for the phone, iPad, and desktop. So awesome!

I'm Not That Good at Relaxing

Today is my day off. I try to take this day and just have it off, you know like I'm supposed to, but for the last few days off I have had to drive somewhere, work on blog stuff, and clean the apartment.

I'm not that good at relaxing. Am I the only one?

However today, I'm going to try to make sure I relax. I'm still going to do a little work because that is just who I am. I'm going to go enjoy the spa I work at, get one last massage, read my Kindle, and prepare myself for this week. I feel like I have a lot of things going on this week, so this will be the one full day I have.

Plus today has already been good because Kristen Victoria over at KV's Confessions has launched her own store with her own art work on different products. I'm super excited for her and this new journey that she is starting.

Now if you'll excuse me, I better get to relaxing. Or at least trying.

H54F: Repeat and Other Little Things

Yesterday's post already summed up a lot of the good stuff that happened this week. However that doesn't mean I can't still talk about them again and a few other little good things that happened this week. I hope everyone had a lovely week and an even better weekend!

1. I love that I can wake up to this. I love skyline pictures.

2. Next week starts my last week at my job. It's a bittersweet thing, but I'm off to bigger and better things.

3. I rediscovered my love for Scrubs this week. It never fails to make me smile.

4. Myke applied to go back to school and we are beyond excited. We would appreciate your good thoughts and prayers during this time.

5. Got my new phone background from Aubrey today and I love it! I love the colors! Go get yours right now!
